These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and Kordon Labs (“Kordon”, “we”, “us”) on the use of the Service. Please read them in full: they include the refund rules (§ 6), the acceptable use rules (§ 7) and the limits of our liability (§ 14).
Definitions
- Service
- Kordon, the protection service for Minecraft servers and other online resources, including the website kordonlabs.com, the client area, the Kordon plugin and the Kordon API.
- Customer, you
- the person who has created a Kordon account. If the account is used for a team or project, that team or project is also bound by these Terms.
- Account
- your Kordon account together with its Resources, settings, API keys and team members.
- Resource
- a game server, website or other online resource that you connect to your account through the plugin or the API.
- Player
- anyone who connects to a Resource. Players are not parties to these Terms.
- Plan
- the free or a paid plan, with the limits and features shown on the pricing page and in the client area.
- Paid period
- the period for which a paid plan has been paid.
- Kordon database
- Kordon's own database of addresses, networks and other signs of connections found to be unwanted (VPNs, proxies, hosting, bots, attacks).
Acceptance of the Terms
You accept these Terms by creating an account or by starting to use the Service. If you do not agree with them, do not use the Service. The Privacy Policy also applies to your use of the Service.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are under the age of majority in your country, you may pay for a plan only with the consent of a parent or guardian; by paying, you confirm that this consent has been given.
If you accept these Terms on behalf of a team, project or organisation, you confirm that you have the authority to do so.
The Service
Kordon checks connections to your Resource (the address, the nickname, the game client) and blocks the ones that you or Kordon consider unwanted: VPNs, proxies, hosting networks, bots, suspicious clients, players from your blacklist and the like. You set up the protection in the client area and see the results there.
What is detected on any Resource connected to Kordon is used, through the Kordon database, to protect all other connected Resources.
Detection is never perfect. Kordon may let an unwanted connection through or block a legitimate player (a “false positive”). You can let any player or address in with your whitelist at any time. We do not guarantee any particular result of the protection.
Your account
Provide accurate information and keep the email address of your account up to date: security codes and important notices are sent there.
You are responsible for everything done through your account, including actions taken with its API keys and by the team members you add. Keep your sign-in details and keys secret, and tell us at once at contact@matix.gg if you suspect that someone else has gained access to them.
An account is personal: do not share, sell or hand it over to anyone. Team members use their own accounts.
You may not create several accounts to get around plan limits or a restriction we have imposed.
Plans and payments
Kordon has a free plan and paid plans. The free plan is provided as is; we may change its limits and features at any time.
Paid plans are paid in advance for a paid period (usually one month), in US dollars, by the payment methods offered in the client area. A plan starts once the payment is confirmed.
You can top up the account's Kordon balance in US dollars. The balance can only be used to pay for Kordon plans: it cannot be withdrawn, transferred to another account or refunded in money, it is not electronic money and it does not expire. When you pay for a plan, the balance is used first and the rest is paid by the method you choose.
Auto-renewal. While auto-renewal is on on the Billing page (it is on by default), the price of the next month is taken from the balance at the end of the paid period, if the balance covers it. You can turn auto-renewal off at any time. If the balance is short, we warn you by email in advance. Without a top-up or a payment the paid plan is not renewed: the account moves to the free plan, possibly after a short grace period shown in the client area. Features not included in the free plan stop working until you renew; your data is not deleted because of this.
Changing plans. A move to a more expensive plan starts at once, the end of the paid period stays the same, and you pay the price difference for the full days left. A move to a cheaper plan starts when the paid period ends; the period already paid for is not recalculated.
When a plan limit is reached, the features it covers may stop working until the limit resets or you move to a higher plan.
Payments are processed by third-party payment providers under their own terms; we do not receive your card details. Fees, taxes and currency conversion charged on your side are borne by you.
We may change prices and plans. A change never affects a paid period that has already been paid for; it applies from the next payment.
Refunds
Payments for plans and balance top-ups are final and are not refunded. Please read this section before you pay.
6.1Try before you pay
Kordon has a free plan with no time limit. Install the plugin, connect your Resource and make sure Kordon suits you before buying a paid plan.
6.2No refunds
A paid plan starts working as soon as the payment is confirmed. Therefore payments are not refunded, in whole or in part, including when:
- you stop using the Service before the paid period ends;
- you have not used all the checks, Resources or features of the plan;
- you move to a lower plan, delete your Resources or close your account;
- unused money is left on the balance;
- the account is restricted, suspended or closed for breaking these Terms;
- the Service was unavailable for some time for the reasons described in § 11 or § 15.
By paying, you ask us to start providing the plan immediately and acknowledge that, once it has started, you lose the right to withdraw from the purchase, to the extent the law allows.
6.3Payment errors
If you paid but the plan was not activated, or you were charged twice for the same period, write to contact@matix.gg or open a support ticket with the payment details within 30 days of the payment. Once we have confirmed the payment, we activate the plan or add the paid days to it.
Payments sent with a wrong amount, in a wrong network or to a wrong address on the payment provider's page are handled under that provider's rules.
6.4Chargebacks and disputes
If something is wrong with a payment, contact us first. If a payment is reversed or disputed through a bank or payment provider, its amount is taken from the balance. If that money has already been spent, the balance becomes negative and the paid plan in effect ends; the next top-up pays the debt first. The account may be suspended until the dispute is resolved.
6.5Exceptions
Any exception we make to this section in a particular case is a goodwill gesture and creates no obligation in other cases.
Nothing in this section limits the rights that the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country give you and that cannot be excluded by agreement.
Acceptable use
These rules apply to you, your team members and anyone who uses the Service through your account or API keys. You are responsible for their compliance.
7.1Lawful use only
- Do not use Kordon for anything illegal or to support illegal activity.
- Do not use Kordon on Resources or projects that distribute malware, sell cheats or stolen accounts, or offer DDoS or bot services.
7.2Cheating and griefing communities
Kordon protects Resources from cheaters, bots and attackers, so we do not serve those on the other side. We do not provide the Service to people, teams and projects that are or have been involved in:
- developing, selling, distributing or advertising cheats, hacked clients, exploits, or ways to bypass anti-cheats and protection systems;
- griefing, raids and organised attacks on Resources;
- bot farms, bot attacks, or selling bots or bot services;
- communities, forums, Discord or Telegram servers built around these activities.
This also applies to the team members of a protected Resource. We decide at our own discretion whether a person or project falls under this subsection; we may refuse registration or suspend or close the account without a refund, and we are not obliged to disclose our reasons or evidence.
7.3The Service and its infrastructure
- Do not attack, overload or disrupt Kordon, flood the API or send excessive automated requests.
- Do not probe the Service for vulnerabilities without our permission. If you find one, report it to contact@matix.gg and do not disclose it to anyone until it has been fixed.
- Do not try to access other customers' accounts, Resources or data.
7.4Honest data
- Do not send Kordon false or forged data: fake connections, substituted IP addresses, nicknames or client details, or made-up reports aimed at getting addresses into or out of the Kordon database.
- Do not use Kordon to test, develop or demonstrate ways of bypassing Kordon or other protection systems.
7.5Limits, access and resale
- Do not get around plan limits, for example with several accounts.
- Do not share your account or give your API keys to third parties.
- Do not resell Kordon, provide access to it or to its data as part of your own service, or connect other people's Resources to your account without our written permission.
- Do not collect data from Kordon in bulk (through the API, the client area or lookups) to build your own IP database or a competing service.
7.6Respect for players
- Use your players' data (IP addresses, countries, providers, connection history) only to run and protect your Resource.
- Never use it to identify, follow, harass, threaten, dox or attack players, and do not pass it on to anyone for such purposes.
- Do not put insults, threats, hate speech, players' personal data or links to malicious sites in kick messages or other texts shown to players.
7.7Support
Treat our team with respect. Do not flood support with repeated tickets, do not threaten or insult staff, and do not attach malicious files.
7.8Enforcement
If we find a violation, depending on its severity we may warn you, limit features or the request rate, revoke API keys, suspend or close the account without a refund, and add the addresses involved to the Kordon database. Serious violations may be reported to the authorities.
We decide at our own discretion whether a violation has taken place.
If your account has been closed for a violation, you may not create a new one or use the Service through someone else's account without our written permission.
To report a violation of these rules or abuse of Kordon, write to contact@matix.gg.
Your players' data
When Kordon checks connections to your Resource, it processes personal data of your players: IP addresses, nicknames, game client details and connection times. For these checks you are the controller of your players' data, and Kordon processes it on your behalf as a processor. The data is described in detail in the Privacy Policy.
You must have a lawful basis for protecting your Resource this way and must inform your players about it, for example in your Resource's rules: connections are checked by a third-party protection service, and unwanted connections are blocked. You are responsible for answering your players' requests about their data.
By accepting these Terms, you instruct us to process your players' data for the purpose of protecting your Resource, as set by these Terms and your settings. We process the data only for this purpose, keep it confidential, protect it with reasonable measures, involve other processors (hosting, IP reputation providers and the like) only for the Service (you authorise this by accepting these Terms), help you answer players' requests, inform you if we become aware of a breach affecting their data, and delete a Resource's data when you delete the Resource.
The Kordon database is maintained by Kordon as a controller, for the protection of all connected Resources. Data that has gone into it is not deleted when you delete your Resource.
The Kordon database and blocking decisions
The Kordon database is built from the checks of all connected Resources, public and commercial sources of IP reputation data and our team's own work. We decide what goes into it and for how long. Your blacklist and whitelist apply to your Resources only.
Addresses, networks and clients that attack Kordon, its customers or the Service itself may be blocked on all connected Resources. Such entries are not removed at the request of the owner of a single Resource.
The choice of protection level and settings for your Resource is yours, and so is the responsibility for that choice.
The plugin and the API
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use the Kordon plugin on the Resources of your account while these Terms apply to you. Use only the plugin downloaded from the client area.
You may not:
- distribute, publish or sell the plugin or provide it to third parties;
- modify the plugin to change what data it sends or how it handles Kordon's answers;
- decompile or reverse engineer the plugin or the Service, except where the law expressly allows it;
- create clients that imitate the plugin.
The API may be used only with your own keys, within the rights and limits of your plan and key, and only for the Resources of your account. We may limit the request rate and revoke keys that are misused.
We may update the plugin, the API and the client area at any time. Older plugin versions may stop being supported; keeping the plugin up to date is your responsibility.
Availability and changes
We strive to keep the Service running around the clock, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Maintenance, failures of our providers and networks, and attacks may cause downtime. What happens to connections when a check cannot be completed is set by you in your Resource's settings.
We may change, add or remove features of the Service and of the plans, and we may discontinue the Service. We try to announce significant changes in advance. Changes do not entitle you to a refund.
Support is provided through the client area on the plans that include it, and at contact@matix.gg. We answer as soon as we can, but response times are not guaranteed.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time: remove the plugin, delete your Resources in the client area (their player data is deleted with them) and, if you wish, ask us at contact@matix.gg to delete your account.
We may restrict, suspend or close your account without a refund if you breach these Terms, if a payment is reversed or disputed, if the law requires it, or if your use puts the Service, its customers or players at risk.
When the account is closed, the plugin licence ends and your data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.
Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (on payments, liability, intellectual property and disputes) continue to apply.
Intellectual property
The Service, the plugin, the Kordon database, the website, the Kordon name and logo belong to Kordon Labs. These Terms give you no rights to them other than the licence in § 10.
Your settings, lists and texts (for example, kick messages) remain yours. You allow us to store and use them free of charge as far as needed to provide the Service, and you confirm that they do not infringe anyone's rights.
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely and without compensation.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we give no warranties other than those expressly stated in these Terms, including warranties of fitness for a particular purpose and of uninterrupted or error-free operation. You use the Service at your own risk.
To the extent the law allows, Kordon is not liable for:
- indirect or consequential losses (lost income, players, donations or data, harm to reputation);
- losses caused by false positives or missed detections;
- losses caused by downtime, your settings, or the actions of third parties and third-party services.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for all claims related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the event that gave rise to the claim.
These limits do not apply where liability cannot be limited by law.
You will compensate Kordon for losses and third-party claims, including claims of your players, arising from your breach of these Terms or of the law in using the Service.
Force majeure
Neither party is liable for failing to perform these Terms because of circumstances beyond its reasonable control: hostilities and their consequences, power and communication outages, attacks on infrastructure, failures of data centres and providers, natural disasters, decisions of authorities. Performance resumes once these circumstances end.
Disputes
We settle every disagreement out of court whenever possible. Going to court is possible only after the claim procedure below.
16.1Claim procedure
Send a written claim to contact@matix.gg from the email address of your account. Describe what happened and what you ask for, and attach what confirms it: payment details, screenshots, the names of the Resource and the account.
We answer a claim within 30 days of receiving it. If we need more information, this period runs from the day we receive it.
16.2Negotiations
If our answer does not settle the matter, the parties continue negotiations in good faith and may, by agreement, involve an independent mediator.
16.3Court
A party may go to court only if the dispute has not been settled within 60 days of the claim being received. Such a dispute is resolved in accordance with the applicable law.
If you are a consumer, you keep the protection given to you by the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms. The current version is published on this page with the date of the last update.
We notify you of material changes in advance by email or in the client area. If you continue to use the Service after the changes take effect, you accept them; if you do not agree, stop using the Service.
General provisions
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Kordon on the Service.
- Notices. We send notices to the email address of your account or show them in the client area; a notice is considered received when sent. Send your notices to contact@matix.gg.
- Assignment. You may not transfer your rights and obligations under these Terms without our consent. We may transfer them to a company that operates the Service, including one created later.
- Severability. If a provision of these Terms is found invalid, the rest remain in force, and the invalid provision is replaced by a valid one closest to its purpose.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a provision immediately, we do not waive the right to enforce it later.
- Language. These Terms are published in English, Russian and Ukrainian. If the versions differ, the English version prevails.
