# Checkpoint help

Why a website asks you to verify you are human, and what to do if the check does not let you through.

Last updated: 2026-10-28

Kordon Checkpoint is a check that a website's owner adds to their pages, usually to sign-up, sign-in or payment forms. Kordon does not run the site: whether you are let in after the check is decided by the site's settings.

## 1. Why am I seeing this?

The site protects its forms from bots, spam and attacks, and its owner may also restrict access through VPNs and proxies. The check takes a few seconds and confirms that a real person is visiting. Nothing is installed and no account is needed.

## 2. What do I do?

Tick the box once and wait a moment. When the widget shows “Connection verified”, carry on with the form.

The check is valid for 5 minutes. If you take longer, the widget shows “The check has expired. Tick the box again”: tick it once more.

## 3. What the messages mean

- **VPN or proxy detected**: your connection goes through a VPN, proxy, Tor or a hosting network, and this site does not allow it. Turn off the VPN or proxy, including browser extensions and VPNs built into the browser, then reload the page.
- **Access from your address is restricted**: the site's owner has restricted access from your address or network. Only the owner can change this, so contact them.
- **Could not verify you are human**: the browser looked automated. Open the page in an ordinary browser with automation tools turned off and try again.
- **Too many attempts**: too many checks came from your address in a short time. Wait a minute and try again.
- **Could not check your connection**: the check did not finish. Click the widget to try again in a minute.
- **No connection to Kordon**: your browser could not reach Kordon. Check your internet connection and make sure an ad blocker, an extension or a firewall does not block kordonlabs.com, then click the widget again.

## 4. It keeps failing

- Use an up-to-date browser with JavaScript turned on.
- Turn off VPNs, proxies and extensions that change your connection or hide your address.
- Turn off automation tools and do not tick the box with scripts.
- Try another network, for example mobile internet instead of public Wi-Fi.
- See how your address looks on [kordonlabs.com/ip](https://kordonlabs.com/ip): whether it is marked as a VPN, proxy or hosting.

## 5. Contact the site's owner

If nothing helps, contact the site's owner and tell them the time of the check and, if you can, your IP address. They see every check on their site with its reason and can let your address through.

Kordon does not change a site's decisions for its owner. What the check processes is described in [Checkpoint privacy](https://kordonlabs.com/checkpoint/privacy).
